William Strauss
William Straus ’16, has been a student in our School since the age of three. Chivalrous in nature, Will is an excellent role model for his peers and younger students both in the classroom and on the ball-field. A three sport varsity athlete in school and an active member of an elite travel baseball team, Will is always running off to practice, training, or physical therapy. Our coaches have recognized his leadership potential and have named him captain of both the baseball and basketball teams. He is an excellent role model for the teams, and especially for the younger members. He treats them all with respect and leads with a humble confidence without a drop of conceit. Academics and learning have always been a priority for him and our family. He takes pride in the fact that he has done well (he has an A- average). In addition, Will is a budding entrepreneur, having started a small business with his classmate, Owen Magee, called Top Flight Recruitment Videos. They create and produce high-quality baseball recruitment videos for high school students hoping to play baseball in college. Will was accepted to five colleges and offered spots on four Division III college teams (McDaniel College, Dickinson College, The City College of New York, and SUNY New Paltz) and has chosen to play for McDaniel College (a top 25 Division III baseball team). McDaniel College has also awarded Will a substantial merit scholarship for his strong academic record.
