Daniel Macias
Daniel Macias ’15, attended our School when he was young, but relocated to Colombia, South America with his family at age seven. His goal was to return somehow, and we are so glad he did in time to rejoin his class for the eleventh grade. This time, however, he came on his own and lived first with extended family and then with a Waldorf classmate. A natural athlete, Daniel was a member of our soccer, basketball and baseball teams. In fact, a severe injury sustained while playing soccer with friends in Colombia was the spark that ignited his interest in medicine. To foster this interest, Daniel commuted to a summer internship at Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he observed surgeries. These experiences assured him that pursuing a medical career is absolutely what he wants to do. Daniel is pursuing this career choice at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.
